| 2004 Most Wanted Kit Survey |
|
Here are the final lists for the 2004 survey. This year, we had 107 respondants to the survey, and I would like to express my thanks to each and every one of you who cast your vote.
The results are similar to last year's results, with the exception of the Whippet no longer appearing on the Pre-WW II list, thanks to its recent release by Emhar. The two kits leading that list are the British Mark V, and French St. Chamond. The St. Chamond is currently available in resin form from several companies, but as far as I know, the Mark V is not available in this scale in any medium. The World War II list is once again topped by the M26 Pershing, by a considerable margin. As with last year, I have no knowledge of any company planning on releasing this vehicle in the near future. The Post-WW II list is again led by the Centurion in an almost shut-out vote. It's pretty clear what people want to see in this particular genre. Again, I don't know of any manufacturer who has announced this kit as a future release. All three lists are presented below with their final scores. Vehicles with tie votes are presented alphabetically. This year was an experiment in that I kept the lists on-line throughout the survey, updated on almost a daily basis. This may have encouraged people to vote for particular vehicles, but I doubt it's much of an issue, considering how similar the lists are to last year, when I waited until the end of the survey to post the completely tallied results. |
